| Four reasons why you should invest in Brettenwood Coastal Estate |
| The property market is on the up-an-up so I thought I'd get straight to the point in this issue of the Estate's bi-monthly newsletter, by giving you four of the best reasons why you should invest in Brettenwood Coastal Estate: |
Unique location: Hidden in the surrounding hills of Sheffield Beach and isolated from the bustling city, you'll be amazed at how quick and convenient it is to reach the new King Shaka International Airport, Ballito Lifestyle Centre, Gateway Theatre of Shopping, Sibaya Casino and so much more. |
Security and tranquility: With the most sophisticated security system which includes a dedicated team of staff, you can enjoy protection 24/7, which in itself creates a lifestyle of tranquility. |
Nature as your neighbour: Natural foliage, ridges, dams, wetlands and trees bring you an abundance of birdlife and will keep you in constant contact with Mother Nature herself. |
Architecture inspired by what you see: All the homes on the Estate are built or are to be built in harmony with its natural surroundings - our panel of architects make sure of that. |
Why don't you come and see for yourself, or if you have been to the Estate, come and see again, what this beautiful Estate has to offer.

The first land was sold in 2006, and the first freehold home was completed in 2007. Today the Estate has some really fantastic freehold homes, the beautiful retirement village, Forest Village and The Lakes which consist of "designer living" three bedroom villas and two bedroom apartments. Only a few sites are left of Phase 1, and the recently launched Phase 2 is already selling well.
| |
| Five beautiful homes for the last five sites of phase 1 |
| The last five stands of Phase 1 of the Estate will be marketed in a unique way: two architectural companies are designing five diverse homes, within the architectural footprint of the Estate, for the last five sites of Phase 1. Cronje Associated Architects cc are designing three and Hewitt Velissariou Architecture cc two different homes respectively. Each design will engage with the topography of the land which, in turn, will promote a symbiotic relationship between the architecture and its surroundings. |

| What they have to say about living on the Estate |
Errol and Glynis Richardson have been living on the Estate for seven months. They bought their house, 26 Francolin Close, with the most exquisite sea and inland views, at the drop of a hat one Sunday afternoon. Errol tells with great excitement of how, whilst sitting in a restaurant in Umdloti waiting for their lunch, he saw a photograph of their now "house on the hill with lots of sun", in a property magazine.
"I phoned the number on the adverts straight away and we were very impressed when we could see the house that same afternoon. Whilst looking at the house, we knew immediately that that was the house we wanted, and, as the saying goes, the rest is history", says Errol. "What I love most about the Estate is that there are no golf balls, as I think living on a golf estate is such an intrusion"."‘We have a Duiker living just beyond our patio, and are still, after having lived here for six months and having gone for many walks, in absolute awe of the dozens of birdlife species on the Estate. We also love the dams, especially our view of the Heron Bridge Dam. The many dams on the Estate attract a lot of birds. All of this and hearing the owls at night makes living here really special".
| Errol and Glynis also find exploring all the beaches in the area really relaxing. The Richardsons have three children, all qualified commercial pilots, thus Errol's excitement about the opening of the new King Shaka International Airport in May. "The airport is going to be great, right on our doorstep. We now have everything we need, from shops with ample parking in Ballito, to easy access to international air travel. Brettenwood Coastal Estate is definitely a lifestyle worth investing in", says Errol. |

| Fishing Competition & Mardi Gras |
The Estate hosted a fishing competition and Mardi Gras recently. The purpose of the event was to provide residents with the opportunity to rub shoulders.
Local fishing legends Raymond du Bruyn and Mark de la Hey were present as judges and lent a helping hand and offered advice. Prizes for the competition were sponsored by Stedone Homes, Ocean to Ocean, Buildeck and Luyt Lager.
The Mardi Gras, held directly after the fishing competition on the beautiful bridge of the Heron Bridge Dam, was thoroughly enjoyed by residents, their families and friends.
